Luka Doncic is a Slovenian professional basketball player who rose to stardom in no time and plays in NBA from Dallas Mavericks. He was born on 28th February 1999 in Ljubljana, Slovenia and his father Sasa Doncic is former basketball player. When he was nine years old, his parents split up and got divorced however his custody was given to his mother. Ever since childhood, Luka is interested in outdoor games and played diverse games including football. Although he left football because of his height. Real Madrid
He started his career in basketball in 2010 from local club KK Union Olimpija at the age of just 11 years. When he turned 12 years, he began participating in invitation tournaments in the ranks of the U14 team of the top Spanish club Real Madrid. Dončić was convincing in the junior divisions and, despite his young age, switched from the U14 to the U16 in quick time. On April 30, 2015 Luka Dončić made his debut in Real Madrid’s A squad against Unicaja Málaga. With this game, he became the youngest ever player in the history of the Real Madrid’s club and third youngest ever to play in the ACB League.
Dallas Mavericks
In the 2018 NBA draft, Dončić was selected in third place by the Atlanta Hawks and transferred to the Dallas Mavericks on the same evening against Trae Young and a future first-round selection right. In the season 2018/19 he succeeded, among others as the second-youngest player in the NBA history, a triple-double. With a total of eight triple doubles in its first season he placed behind Oscar Robertson (26) and Ben Simmons (12) third in the time list. Also at the end of season 2018/19, he was awarded as NBA Rookie of the Year. Total 98 out of 100 voters elected him for this and he is currently unstoppable.
