Galyn Gorg was an American actress and dancer best known for her role in the film RoboCop 2. She was born on July 15, 1964, in Los Angeles, California, USA to Gwyndolin Lee Gorg and Alan Kent Gorg. Her mother was an actress and model. Her father a was a documentary filmmaker, writer and editor. Galyn had three sisters, Gentry, Sunny, and Tagi; and one brother, Carter. She spent her childhood and early adulthood in Hawaii and graduated from Santa Monica City College in liberal arts.
Career
Galyn’s career as a dancer began as a teenager when she was awarded scholarships at the prestigious Dupree Dance Academy, Alvin Ailey Summer Program and The Professional Dancers Society. She had studied the dance styles of Jazz, Ballet, Haitian, Afro-Samba, Afro-Cuban, West African, Hip-Hop, Hula and funk. Galyn was also a lecturer and performed at various schools all over the world.
She studied acting with Ivana Chubbuck, Improv for the People, Anthony Meindl, Actor’s Workshop, The Groundlings, The Improv, Pacific Resident Theater, and The Susan Giosa technique. Galyn’s career was spread over television, film, music video, and live theatrical performances which has spanned a multitude of countries including, the Middle East, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Canada as well other parts of the world.
Her first acting role was in a 1983 music video for I Still Can’t Get Over Loving You. Two roles led Galyn to her accredited fame, Lt. Leora Maxwell in the TV series M.A.N.T.I.S., in 1994, and starring opposite Will Smith in the sitcom Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as Helena from 1990-1996. However, her breakout role is considered to be of her character of Angie in Robocop 2, which was released in 1990.
Since then, she has appeared in small roles in various films and television series like Xena: Warrior Prince, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Lost, Parks & Recreation, How To Get Away With Murder, CSI: Miami, and so on. Her most recent appearance came in the 2019 film A Christmas Princess, wherein she plays the role of Linda.

Galyn Gorg was recently diagnosed with cancer which had spread throughout her entire body and lungs. The family has started a GoFundMe page for her funeral services, wherein they are looking for donations after spending a great amount of money on medication and treatment. The family confirms in the page that Galyn passed away on July 14, 2020, one day before her 56th birthday, after remaining optimistic throughout her journey.
